WeekSeven
Who's Who, and What's What?
never enough CSS
...and why WeekSeven? WeekSeven grew out of our desire not to stop after we completed Vikki's excellent CSS class at LVS, but the class did end on week six.
How could we stop? We had momentum; we had enthusiasm; we had questions; we had ideas; we had conviviality; we had...a buncha stuff! We also had Ann, and Ann had...
an idea
Perhaps inspired by the CSS-discuss.org list, perhaps because she just had an extra e-Board lying around (who can say?). it all worked out. Ann suggested setting up a board where we could congregate, discuss CSS issues, schmooze, keep the friendships and enthusiasm alive.
It's all very informal. There's a board, people put things on it, people comment on those things. Two common areas for discussion, though do not feel limited to these two categories, are HSN (Here's Something Neat!) and HWGO (Help! What's going on?)
HSN
You've just uncovered that holy grail of CSS: a fully-consistent three-column layout. You've read a new CSS Edge article that really explains how to get that right floated box to stick in the right spot every time. You've seen a page that plays karaoke tunes entirely with CSS code. Anything you find that is really neat is something the group would love to hear about.
HWGO
You're working on a site for your mother-in-law, and you KNOW that you can make the cat's head opaque (on the page, at least); you've done it fifty times before! But it's not working. First get really rattled and shout, "Help! What's going on!" then submit the problem to the group; let us puzzle over it. No guarantees, but we'll always try (what are CSS friends for anyway?).
Misc.
We've all got projects we're working on; some are work-related, some are just fun. And it need not all be CSS. Who doesn't love a good software review or some gossip about kids and dogs (our other kids?).
something was missing, though
Board user profiles, pix, home pages, current projects--these are all HSN things too. So this page contains some links supplied by the users that you can get to by clicking the link with the appropriate name on it in the upper left (over the shell). There's also a nifty link to get you right back to the message board where you can keep the group alive. Just send your link to the board to be put here, and up it will go!
